This is nice horseshoe shaped wreath of human hair flowers made in the wreath worked process. There are at least 50 flowers along with several leaves, twisted single gimp (or looped) wisps, several loops on the ends and the rest in in single gimp (or looped) method in a variety of hair colors and loop sizes. We see outward facing loops and inverted loops used to make a variety of flower in this presentation. There are a few synthetic stamen and some beads in the center of flowers that look like it is wrapped rattan or thin bark. The outer frame is encrusted with seashells! Hair work and seashell artwork were both crafts encouraged to pass the time and give a natural display of craftsmanship using organic materials throughout the 1800's.
